Learning Tools
I'm ALWAYS eager to explore new apps and software! Especially the ones that make building courses easier and more interactive and engaging for learners.
A few of my favorite tools:
- AI and ChatGPT - Wow. What a wonderful new world to discover!
- Adobe Captive - full screen capture, interactive course development
- Flip - a video discussion tool designed for asynchronous learning and collaboration.
- Kahoot! - Game-based interactive platform designed to help students take an active role in their education through play.
- TechSmith Camtasia - screen recorder and course development. Excellent for creating captions.

Serious Play Conference, July 2019, Orlando, Florida
A small conference, but informative and beneficial for game developers, trainers, and instructional designers.
Educause Annual Conference, Oct 31-Nov 3, 2017, Philadelphia, PA
The Educause annual conference is highly publicized as the place where "professionals and technology providers from around the world gather to network, share ideas, grow professionally, and discover solutions to today’s challenges." With over 8,000 members, the conference did not disappoint: huge expo hall; multiple sessions to serve all interests; excellent networking opportunities; and miles and miles of walking!

Learning Solutions Conference 2015 (LSCon2015) & Expo, Orlando
This was my first experience at LSCon. It is also hosted by the ELearning Guild. It was similar to DevLearn but focused more in Instructional Design and less on the technology... but only to a small degree. It's hard to separate the two when you are working with e-learning.

I have attend three DevLearn conferences. Each one equally as amazing as the last. Wonderful speakers, topics, and technology.
